Star-feedingline

When machines which are not in a line shall be charged or you have to transport different materials and you can’t use a multiple PM line, the starline comes into focus.
This model can also be necessary if the consumption of each machine is very different. Some customers prefer this system also to avoid the need of a security outlet (which is standard at the end of the PM line).
With this version the material will be transported from one or more intermediate hoppers to every machinery hopper with a single feeder. This way the customer can preselect from the controlunit which machine should run with a specific material. This warrants filling machinery hoppers without any material mixture even with different consumptions.
In an early project there was the task to convey e different PVC-mixtures to a line of 54 extruders. Another customer request was to impliment the existing IBC containers for the temporarily use in case of special formulations. This was realised by the dockingunit you can see at the displayed picture.
With a group of 5 or 6 machines the material mixtures where fed to every machine connection with a star-feedingline. From the central controlunit the material can be preselected for every machine. Due to the number of 54 machines and 3 different materials, the largest ever built spiral feedingline was realized. The complete feeding length was 2,6 km by using 256 single feeders. As the customers had lots of problems with dust and separation in the formerly used pneumatic system, they decided to use our technology. Although this system is 20 year in operation now (with a very low rate in spare parts) we are still very proud of that pioneering plant.
